Wines: the best awarded by the Veronelli Gold Guide

Ten labels awarded with the Sun as "Tales in the form of wine". The top of white, red, rosé and sparkling wines. Tuscany is full of awards

The new edition of the Veronelli Seminar's Guide to Italian Wines was presented at the Accademia Carrara in Bergamo. A substantial volume: 16.679 labels reviewed, for a total of 2.099 producers.

Great expectations for the Sun, the special prizes assigned by the editorial staff to as many "stories in the form of wine" representative of the competence, creativity and commitment of Italian producers.

The ten winners were:

Lessona 2016 by Noah Andrea Mosca (Brusnengo, BI)

Etna Bianco Superiore Contrada Villagrande 2017 by Barone di Villagrande (Milo, CT)

Jù Isola dei Nuraghi Rosso 2017 by Cantine di Dolianova (Dolianova, CA).

The Guide then awarded Three Gold Stars, based on a score equal to or greater than 94/100 assigned by the curators Andrea Alpi, Gigi Brozzoni, Marco Magnoli and Alessandra Piubello: 400 wines entered the list.

With reference to the regional division, Tuscany leads the ranking for number of awards achieved with 111 Three Gold Stars, followed by Piedmont with 110 and, far behind, by Veneto with 28 "orostellati" wines.

Furthermore, twenty-seven are the wines that have obtained the title of Great Debut having reached or exceeded the threshold of 94/100 on their first appearance in the Guide.

Five, by definition, the Best Tastings, wines which, in their respective typology, have achieved the highest judgment in cents, therefore represent by far the best wines tasted by the Curators for this edition of the Gold Guide I Vini di Veronelli.
