Twenty years celebrated with the patronage of the European Parliament and a twinning with Franciacorta. The twentieth edition of Vinellando, the event organized from 23rd to 25th August by the Municipality of Magliano and always dedicated to the enological excellence of the territory, that is Morellino di Scansano, opens its doors to the comparison with another prestigious reality voted with wine, but in this case with bubbles. "A twentieth edition of great charm, but also of quality - comments the mayor of Magliano Diego Cinelli - On the one hand the European recognition, on the other a real meeting with Franciacorta of great impact". Vinellando will have a sort of preview with the gala dinner at the Giardino del Torrione, where local and national institutions meet with producers. The event then comes alive with the first two evenings dedicated to the 26 companies of Morellino and with the third which will feature local wines and, precisely, Franciacorta. The formula will be very simple. With five euros you will buy the glass that will allow you to devote yourself to tastings.
In the early evening, it will be possible to taste the Morellino di Scansano and the jury, led by the European Sommelier School, will also enter the field, which will award three prizes to the best wines of the 2017 vintage. The winners will have a dedicated page in the prestigious magazine "Il Gambero Rosso ”. On this occasion, the Equal Opportunities Commission will award a prize to a local entrepreneur whose name will be announced the same evening. On August 24, alongside the tasting of Morellino, in the Giardino del Torrione it will also be possible to taste the best gastronomic products of the province while listening to the music of the duo "Chitarre Boom Boom". The evening of August 25, however, will be dedicated to whites. In Piazza Repubblica the Maremma whites will be the protagonists (the cost of the glass is 5 euros), in Piazza del Popolo Franciacorta which will be tasted (by purchasing a 3 euro flute) under the guidance of the Ais sommeliers. The bubbles of the wine can be associated with tastings of caviar (8 euros) and parmesan cheese (5 euros).
There will also be numerous initiatives that will accompany the event, thanks to the collaboration with the Polo Liceale Bianciardi of Grosseto which, with a competition promoted among the students, has created the poster and logo of Vinellando 2019, also reproduced on the glasses, and the brochure of the menus of the gala evening. During the three days of the event, the students of the Liceo Musicale directed by Professor Gloria Mazzi and live music by Daniela Samperi and Leonardo Pruneti will perform. Next to them will be one of the excellences who have chosen the area, that is the maestro Robin Stapleton who will be at the piano on the evenings of 23 and 24 August in Piazza della Repubblica and on the 25th in Piazza del Popolo. Also on Sunday evening at the Centro Enoturistico, which is located in the same square, a cooking show dedicated to fish will be staged and financed through the funds of the "Costa degli Etruschi" Flag. Outside the city, however, in viale XXIV Maggio on 23 August the band "Lost Star 5+Brass Project" specializing in 90s music will perform, the following evening, however, it will be the turn of the "Bop Frog", which will propose a repertoire from the 70s and 80s. On Sunday 25, however, a fire show will take place which will then continue along the streets up to the Giardino del Torrione where, at midnight, the fireworks will take place. A craft market will also take place during the three evenings.
