Deputy ministers and undersecretaries, appointments of public companies, Salva Roma: first challenges for the Government

Deputy ministers and undersecretaries, heads of public companies, housing plan. In addition, of course, to the new and urgent version of Salva Roma. These are the first puzzles that the new Renzi government will have to solve. The most political is undoubtedly the first, which should find a solution in the next few hours.

DEPUTY MINISTERS AND UNDER-SECRETARIES: BETWEEN TODAY AND TOMORROW THE 45 NAMES

Between today and tomorrow, the CDM has the task of completing the list of deputy ministers and undersecretaries, which will number a total of about 45 names. Most of the quotas to be assigned to the majority parties have already been decided, but several choices are still in the balance.

About 25 figures should be in the Pd share: towards confirmation Lapo Pistelli in Foreign Affairs and Pier Paolo Baretta in Economy, as well as Sesa Amici, who together with Sabrina De Camillis could be nominated for Relations with Parliament. Among the probable new entries is Emanuele Fiano at the Interior.

On the other hand, Bruno Tabacci, from the Democratic Center, also seems to have entered the shortlist of possible undersecretaries. The quotations of the president of the municipal council of Florence, Eugenio Giani, are also growing. Ivan Scalfarotto (in Education) and Antonello Giacomelli (in Publishing or Culture) remain in the game with the possible return of former minister Cecile Kyenge as well.

The share of the new centre-right varies between 7 and 10 names. Several confirmations could arrive among the Alfanians: from Luigi Casero to the Economy to Gioacchino Alfano to the Defence. In the UDC Roberto Rao's quotations in Justice remain high, as do those of Benedetto Della Vedova (SC) in Economy.

Enrico Morando (Pd), former president of the Senate Budget Commission, is also running for the treasury. There is also talk of the probable confirmation of Simona Vicari (Ncd) and Claudio De Vicenti (Pd) in Economic Development, as well as that of Erasmo De Angelis (Pd) in Infrastructure.

A general criterion is that of the female presence, which for Renzi must be conspicuous.

PUBLIC COMPANY APPOINTMENTS: 350 SEATS, ALL OVER THE ENEL GROUP

Even at the top of public companies, the new prime minister intends to increase the number of women. In all, the list of nominations to be decided includes 350 figures. The most significant share is made up of the 74 directors of the Enel group, headed by the managing director Fulvio Conti. Followed by the companies owned by the Cdp, with 51 seats to be assigned, and then again Anas (43), Finmeccanica (35), Eni (29), Poste (29) and the subsidiaries of the Railways (24) and Invitalia (15 ). Silvio Berlusconi's loyalists are certain that Conti and Eni's CEO Paolo Scaroni, appointed and confirmed twice by the Cavaliere's governments, will remain in their positions.

SAVE ROME, MARINO: "STOP THE CITY ON SUNDAY"

After decree withdrawn due to the obstructionism of the Lega and M5S, the Government must also study a new provision to avoid the capital's default. Meanwhile, the number one of the Capitol, Ignazio Marino, raises his voice: “I have been blocking the city since Sunday. So people will have to equip themselves, the politicians in the building who have blue cars are lucky, they will be able to continue driving, the Romans will not be able to drive – said the mayor in an interview with Mix 24 -. I'm really angry. Even the Romans are angry and they are right, they should pursue politics with pitchforks, here we still have to pay for the land expropriated in 1957 to build the Olympic Village. But can we continue to govern the capital like this? It is no longer the period of gossip, it is the period of facts ”.

And then again, on the microphones of Radio 24: "The Government must give us the legislative tools to be able to restore once and for all, I'm not asking for money - declared the mayor - What the press calls Salva Roma is nothing but money of the Romans who must be returned to the Romans. They have to give it back to us. I want to responsibly govern this city. In March there will be no money for the 25 employees of the Municipality, for the diesel for the buses, to keep the nursery schools open or to collect the waste, and not even to organize the sanctification of the two Popes, an event of global significance. I put my face to it, but I don't intend to be a liquidator".

WOLVES: HOME PLAN IN THE NEXT CDM, 2 BILLION FOR SCHOOL BUILDING

“Over two billion for school buildings to be used quickly thanks to a task force between the Ministry of Infrastructure and that of Public Education. Full speed ahead on the Tav, a work not in question. Green light for a new housing plan that will be illustrated at the next cabinet meeting. And again: closure of the Alitalia-Etihad operation by March". Maurizio Lupi, Minister of Infrastructures, takes stock of his department's program in an interview with Il Messaggero.

“For schools – explains the minister – I think at least two billion can be released by removing these investments from the Stability Pact. Renzi has indicated the priorities and now it is up to the Ministry of Economy to take action and find the covers. We really need to get out of the swamp. The time factor, I repeat, is decisive”.

For the relaunch of the building sector "we will go ahead with the eco-bonuses for the furniture supply chain, which have had extraordinary success - continues the minister -, while in March the "Plafond casa" fund of the two billion Cassa Depositi e Prestiti will finally be active intended to finance mortgages to buy homes and for building renovations. From next month it will be enough to go to the banks that have signed the agreement with the CDP to access these resources. At the next council of ministers I will illustrate the housing plan which provides for refinancing for the rental fund and innocent arrears, the recovery of social housing, a further lowering of the dry coupon for those who put vacant housing on the market. In all, interventions for a billion and a half capable of giving new impetus to the sector”.
