Pre-agreement reached between Aran and the trade unions for the new contract of medical and healthcare management 2019-2021. Affected by the agreement are 135 thousand white coats of the National Health Service (120.063 doctors and 14.573 non-medical health managers.)
The contract provides for a total of 618 million of euros in resources, with an average increase of 289 euros per month for 13 months and arrears of between 6 thousand and over 10 thousand euros for each worker.
The text will now appearsubjected to examination by the Ministries and control bodies, and then there will be the definitive signature and the release of the funds. To see the increase in resources in the paycheck, workers will probably have to wait for the 2024.
The qualifying points of the agreement
The agreement has key points that include:

- Payment for extra work with additional services instead of overtime and an increase in the value of additional services to 80 euros with the possibility of further increases through company bargaining
- Elimination of the external service for hospitals and hospital facilities which fueled the phenomenon of globetrotting doctors
The position for medical specialists
Furthermore, there are specific provisions for resident doctors that concern their rrole in the National Health Service, and rrules and rights who with the Calabria decree will finally be able to be considered professionals and have better training and definition of skills of doctors in training.

“This adds a fundamental piece to the conclusion of the contractual round for the 2019-21 three-year period. A contract that concerns approximately 135 thousand medical, veterinary and healthcare managers. In terms of financial treatment, the contract recognizes overall average monthly increases of 289 euros for 13 months and arrears of between 6 thousand and over 10 thousand euros per capita, which will be paid upon final signature at the end of the control process. In addition to the fundamental aspect of economic increases, the agreement provides for very important improvements regarding the regulatory treatment of staff in terms of working hours, ready availability and medical guards. I thank the trade unions with whom there has always been loyal collaboration, despite the lively dialectic” concluded the Aran president.
