Cdp summit: there is no agreement, postponement to 13 July

Nothing done on the renewal at the top of the Cassa Depositi. Only the Foundations presented their own list. It is possible to recover the custom of a single list, but we will have to wait for the meeting on Friday. The Cdp node is intertwined with that of Rai appointments. No agreement also on Copasir and Supervision

Cdp summit: there is no agreement, postponement to 13 July

One prime minister and two deputy prime ministers were not enough on Monday to find an agreement on the appointments to the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti. The board of directors has completed its mandate, it has resigned, but the new board of directors - after various postponements due to the change of government - has not yet seen the light. The deadlines for the presentation of the majority and minority lists expired on Monday, in view of the meeting - which has already been postponed several times - on 13 July.

The only result at the moment has been produced by the banking foundations, which are responsible for indicating the new president. They did so and presented their list indicating Massimo Tononi (already in Mps and Borsa Italiana) president, Matteo Melley and Alessandra Ruzzu as directors. An unusual step compared to the past when it was customary to present a single list for the CDP. This could still happen but at this point we will have to wait directly for July 13 when the Mef will probably present a single list at the meeting.

Complicating the appointments in the CDP is the more comprehensive game on renewals. In fact, the package includes the appointment of the director general of the Mef but also and above all those of Rai . The positions of the League and the 5 Star Movement are apparently distant. And so the push and pull on the names continues: from the favorite – until Monday – Marcello Sala (former vice president of the board of Intesa Sanpaolo) to the other names on the track such as that of the CFO Fabrizio Palermo or the president of the EIB, Dario Scannapieco.

The tangle of appointments also concerns the more political events of the Copasir and Rai Supervision. On the choice of the presidents of the two commissions - traditionally entrusted to the oppositions - an institutional tear would be taking place. So much so that on Monday the Democratic Party did not deliver to the presidents of the Chamber and Senate the list of their members designated for the two guarantee commissions (secret services and public television respectively). We are therefore moving towards a new postponement which will be followed by the postponement of the vote on the members of the Rai board of directors (set for July 18) and that on the Rai president for which two thirds of voters are required and therefore also the votes of the Democratic Party are needed.
