On the occasion of the Asia Europe Summit (ASEM) in Milan today, which will see the presence of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the President of the Republic, Giorgio Napolitano, will meet both the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, and the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in two separate talks , both invited to the event.
The two bilateral meetings will therefore be held in the context of the ASEM summit. And they won't be the only talks that Napolitano will have today, given that the heads of state and government of 49 countries will arrive in the Lombard capital. The president will then participate in the gala dinner at Palazzo Reale and will leave for Rome on Friday morning.
