Asem summit, Eni consolidates strategies in Asia

Eni increasingly consolidates its business relations with Asia. Particularly in Vietnam, Korea and Myanmar. The presence in Milan of 22 Asian delegations for the ASEM summit gave the Italian group the opportunity to meet politicians and representatives of strategic countries for the Group and to strengthen relations with the reference oil companies.

Two days of busy appointments, which began yesterday with the meeting of CEO Claudio Descalzi with a ministerial delegation from Vietnam, headed by the Minister of Industry and Commerce Vu Huy Hoang. Descalzi then received the top managers of the state company, PetroVietnam, led by President Nguyen Xuan Son. Furthermore, Descalzi was in Hanoi only three days ago, to sign two production sharing contracts (PSC) with PetroVietnam for the exploration of blocks 116 and 124, located off the coast of Vietnam.

An agreement that has already brought the group's exploration blocks in the country to six, with a unique participation compared to other international companies. Today is the turn of Korea and Myanmar. In the morning, Eni's top managers met a delegation from the Korean Kogas, among other things Eni's partner with 10% of area 4 in Mozambique, headed by the president and CEO Seokhyo Jang, which saw the signing of an cooperation between the two companies.

In the evening, a meeting with the President of Myanmar, who for Eni Myanmar is a real promise. In July, the group signed exploration contracts for 2 onshore blocks: RSF-5 and PSC-K through a joint venture made up of Eni, operator with 90% through Eni Myanmar BV, and Myanmar Production and Exploration Company Ltd (with 10%). At the end of the morning, Eni's stock was doing well in Piazza Affari, where it gained 1,4% a 16,08 euro, in line with the positive day of the Ftse Mib.
