The world is going through a phase of great turbulence. Many balances have jumped. Political, economic and military tensions multiply. The main "global" problems are getting worse: the demographic explosion, mass migrations, terrorism, climate change, financial instability.
The globalization process has entered a crisis, the markets tend to fragment, nationalistic impulses are regaining strength. Is it possible to rebuild order before the situation deteriorates further? It will not be easy. Emerging countries are in difficulty, Europe is torn internally.
The United States seem reluctant towards new international commitments, yet once again only a cohesive West open to dialogue with "the others", capable of setting aside the cyclical declining theses and relaunching its liberal-democratic values, will be able to assume a role of guidance and responsibilities needed to face an uncertain future and successfully overcome the challenges of the XNUMXst century.
