Versace takes home in China: the 5-star hotel of the Italian brand is born in Macao

Palazzo Versace lands in Macao, with a 5-star luxury hotel. Gianni Versace Spa and Sociedade de Jogos de Macau announced in a note that they have signed the agreement.

Palazzo Versace Macao will be the first 5-star luxury hotel in the capital city of the People's Republic of China's Macao region designed by a major fashion house, as well as the first Palazzo Versace in Asia. It will be presented on September 5th.

The Made in Italy label has opened its first resort in Australia; in 2014 the new Palazzo Versace in Dubai will instead be inaugurated and now the group is aiming for a structure with 2000 rooms and 700 gaming tables in Macao. The latter is the only area in China where gambling is legal and casinos recorded a turnover of 38 billion dollars last year, taking advantage of the growth of China's wealthy classes.

To carry out the sumptuous project, Versace has chosen a local partner, SJM Holdings, which will build the hotel designed by the fashion house in the former Portuguese colony.
