Venezuela, Maduro closes Parliament?

Venezuela close to coup d'état. The democratic stability of the South American country, which has been experiencing a serious economic and political crisis since Chavez's death, is increasingly at risk: President Nicolas Maduro has said he is considering closing Parliament, just elected in December and in the hands of the opposition.

Maduro also has vetoed the amnesty law for political prisoners approved by Parliament and has announced that it will send it to the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) to have it declared unconstitutional. The high court has already rejected all the laws enacted after the tough defeat of Chavismo in last December's policies. The closure of the parliament for Maduro would have the aim of "blocking the road to coup and the manipulation of the National Assembly".

On the possibility of Parliament trying to convene a referendum to end his mandate, Maduro said that "if one day the corrupt bourgeoisie comes to power thanks to its unconventional war, the revolutionary movement and the whole people will take to the streets: it will be a civic-military insurrection and I will be at the forefront of this new revolution”.
