Veneto Banca: complete renewal of the board of directors, list filing tomorrow. Consuls dg for another two years

The most plausible scenario in the immediate future of Veneto Banca seems to be a complete renewal of the board of directors and a new board without Vincenzo Consoli who will remain at the helm of the bank with the role of general manager - The deadline for the presentation of the lists of candidates for the board ends tomorrow at 17pm

Veneto Banca: complete renewal of the board of directors, list filing tomorrow. Consuls dg for another two years

Veneto Banca is preparing for the shareholders' meeting on 26 April. A complete renewal of the board is expected thanks to the 'sense of responsibility' of the current directors and a new board without Vincenzo Consoli, who will remain at the helm of the bank with the role of general manager to prepare for the change of top management with a time horizon of 1- 2 years.

The deadline for the presentation of the lists of candidates for the board expires tomorrow at 17 pm. The presentation of a single list is looming, organized by the outgoing president of Unindustria Treviso, Alessandro Vardanega, which would focus on the economist Francesco Favotto, professor of the of Padua, for the presidency of the bank.
The greatest element of uncertainty remains the willingness of the current board of directors (of which only four members are formally expiring) to take a step back, allowing for the total replacement requested by the Bank of Italy.

However, it seems that in these hours this line is prevailing and that even the initially less convinced directors have decided to give way to others. If this were indeed to happen, the new board, which would have to choose the president from within, would not be willing to appoint a new CEO, thus leaving the leadership of the bank and the preparation of the managerial change to Consoli. In that case the latter could be completed without haste over the course of a couple of years and the result would then be the exit of Consoli himself.
