Car sales, FCA grows in Germany and France. Well Alfa and Jeep

Acea has published data on registrations in Europe and the EFTA area, which rose by 4% in February and by 5,5% in the two-month period. FCA reports a slight decline in market share in the area. Acea data on new registrations in Europe and the EFTA area were published in February 2018 and in the two-month period. Monthly sales grow by 4% to 1.159.039 new vehicles. In the two-month period, however, a total of 2.445.109 new vehicles were registered, an increase of 5,5% compared to the same period of 2017.

FCA in February reported a 4,4% drop in sales to 84.345 vehicles, thus slightly reducing its market share from 7,9 to 7,3 percent. In the first two months of the year, it recorded 120 vehicles, obtaining a 4,9 percent share. At the individual brand level, the strong leap forward of Jeep, flagship brand of the group, which grew by more than 50% , closely followed by Alfa Romeo which records an increase in sales of 17,1% to 7.370 units. On the other hand, registrations of the other brands of the group decreased, in particular those of the Lancia/Chrysler segment, down by 42,2% to 4.197 units compared to the previous year.

Commenting on the Acea data, Fiat Chrysler points out in a press release that it improved its performance in Spain (+7,3 per cent) and in Germany and France: in these two countries, with sales up respectively by 9,3 and by 8,8 percent, the brand obtained a better result than the overall result of the two markets. In February, the brand once again confirms the leadership in segment A, with almost 15.400 Fiat 500 registered (15,3 percent more than in the same month of 2017) and over 13 pandas: they are obviously the two best-selling cars in the category, with a combined share of close to 30 percent. The result was also positive Type: almost 9.700 registrations in the month and 19.800 in the two months, with a 2017% increase compared to the first two months of 4. The 124 Spider is also confirmed as one of the five best-selling cars in its segment.

Sales of Lancia / Chrysler they are 4.200 in February (for a share of 0,4 percent) and almost 8.500 in the two-month period, with a share of 0,3 percent. The Jeep brand in February it registered over 12 cars with a 50,2 percent increase in sales. The share grew by 0,3 percentage points to 1 per cent. The luxury brand Maserati registers 626 cars in February and 1.400 in the two-month period.
