DESIGN.VE it takes place inside the lagoon city and takes us to secret places that are often not accessible to the public and from the more traditional tourist places: DESIGN.VE is a walk through the city.

Venice is an important city for Generali which preserves important traces of its history and the roots of its work as an insurer.

This year the event presents a program that sees a main collective exhibition accompanied by seventeen other exhibitions set up in different areas of Venice involving over 70 designers.

A map will connect all these points to suggest the Design Walks, which will wind through the various districts: San Marco, the historic heart of the city; Castello, where the official headquarters of the Biennale, Giardini and Arsenale are located; Dorsoduro, the area of the main cultural centres, and Cannaregio.

This second edition presents the work of independent designers, companies, museum and academic institutions operating in the field of design at a national and international level, and sees Generali Italia as the Main Partner of the initiative.

And thanks to Valore Cultura, the Compagnia's project which, since 2016, has been supporting the best artistic and cultural initiatives to make them accessible to an ever wider audience, opens up to the world of design for the first time, one of Generali's historic headquarters in the city, Morosini Palace Gatterburg, which hosts the main collective exhibition of Design.Ve.

Marco Sezana, Country Manager and Chief Executive Officer of Generali Italia: "With the support of DESIGN.VE, Generali Italia extends its support and development action to contemporary creativity, making design another of the tools for the dissemination of innovative ideas and values".

The following will take turns in the discussion and presentation of their projects: Humberto Campana, for the Campana Institute; Xenia Reeman curator of the Die Neue Samlung Museum in Munich; Sumantro Ghose director of the London Design Biennial; Alessandro Marchionne, managing director of Genagricola, with Land Italia, the latter creator of the masterplan of the landscape enhancement project of the historic Genagricola estate. The project culminated in the international artistic competition the Three Thresholds of Ca' Corniani – Land of the avant-garde, which saw the famous artist Alberto Garutti win. His works will be installed at the three main entrances to the estate: a large golden roof for the now abandoned farmhouse, a neon sign that lights up with every lightning strike in Italy, portrait sculptures of the dogs and horses that live on the farm.

“Design After Darwin. Adapted to Adaptability” is also the title of the main collective exhibition, which takes place at Palazzo Morosini Gatterburg.
