French Prime Minister Manuel Valls explained that the budget commitments made by France with the European Union will not be respected, because Paris has to take unforeseen measures after the terrorist attacks in Paris and deal with new possible threats.
Valls clarified that the budget parameters "will be greatly exceeded" and that Europe "will have to understand" these needs of France and allow it to use new funds for the Police, Gendarmerie and Intelligence.
In particular, Valls explained during a radio interview that the deficit target will be "necessarily exceeded" due to the changes to the budget which will allow for 10 more jobs between the Police and the Gendarmerie.
