Another night of incessant searches for rescuers at work amidst the rubble and snow. The work of the teams engaged in searching for survivors continues in the Rigopiano hotel in Farindola (Pescara), which was overwhelmed by an avalanche on Wednesday afternoon. On Friday, after more than 40 hours, the first survivors were extracted. Five people, including four children, loaded by helicopter and transported to hospital in Pescara.

Five other people were identified by rescuers, who managed to extract four of them from what remains of the resort in the night between Friday and Saturday and are working to get the others out. The rescuers themselves explained that other voices are coming from under the rubble and snow, different from those already identified and still to be brought to the surface: the intercepted voices have not yet been located in the structure, and about twenty people are still missing from the appeal .

The first group of survivors had found refuge between the bar and the billiard room, according to the mayor of Farindola, Ilario Lacchetta. According to the first testimonies they were identified and located thanks to the smoke coming out of the attic of the kitchen area, it is not clear whether it came from a fire lit to warm up or from a fire.

There are four confirmed victims at the moment: two of them have been identified and they are the waiters of the resort Alessandro Giancaterino and Gabriele D'Angelo. The Pescara Public Prosecutor's Office has ordered an autopsy on the bodies, which will however only be carried out when the search operations for the survivors inside the hotel are completed. In the night between Friday and Saturday, firefighters found the bodies of two other victims: they are two women who have not yet been identified.
