An avalanche of public appointments is on the way: today Terna, then the grand commis

Terna's white smoke is expected today: the board of Cassa depositi e prestiti, which is its main shareholder, should indicate the new CEO in view of the next meeting. An intern (Gianni Armani) and the director of the Cdp (Matteo Del Fante) are in the running. The chosen one will work alongside the new president Katia Bastioli.

After Terna it's up to the grand commis of the state, public bodies and ministries. There are 28 seats to be confirmed or changed in the high bureaucratic power. The State Accountant General (who will however be confirmed) and the Director General of the Treasury are due to expire, for whom a strong candidate is Del Fante of the CDP if La Via is not confirmed.

In May, the Director General of the Revenue Agency, Attilio Befera, will leave due to his age. Then on the table is the succession to Moretti at the helm of the State Railways: having called out Cattaneo (ex Terna) Elia and Arcuri remain in the running.

The seat of Istat, on the other hand, is still vacant and former Welfare Minister Giovannini has not hidden his willingness to return. The choice for the next INPS president is next but complex. The strongest candidate remains former minister Tiziano Treu. The government has given 45 days to change the highest positions in Palazzo Chigi, but the decrees of appointment which had to be ready by April 11 are still awaited.

The other aspect concerning Palazzo Chigi is the Cohesion Agency where the Renzi-Delrio diarchy would like to concentrate its national spending programmes. There are therefore 28 seats that must be reconfirmed or changed by the government within 90 days according to law 165 of 2001. These are the general secretaries and heads of departments of the thirteen ministries.
