Val d'Agri, Eni: oil center released from seizure

This was ordered by the Prosecutor of Potenza, with the aim of allowing the execution of some works of "technical modification proposed by Eni in the context of the application for release from seizure presented by the company on 20 May and accepted by the Prosecutor".

The Prosecutor of Potenza has ordered the “temporary release” of Eni's oil center in Viggiano (Potenza) where, until 31 March last year, around 75 barrels of oil per day were treated, before the seizure of two tanks and a reinjection well as part of the investigation on oil in Basilicata. This was announced by ENI, which today received notification of the release from seizure. Yesterday the consultants of the Public Prosecutor's Office had expressed a favorable opinion on the plant modification works.

The release from seizure has the purpose of allow some work to be done of "technical modification proposed by Eni in the context of the release from seizure presented by the company on May 20 and accepted by the Public Prosecutor". The works should be completed “within a maximum term of three months. Once the correctness of implementation of the modification has been verified - added the oil company - the Public Prosecutor's Office will proceed with the definitive release from seizure".

Eni reiterated its intention to "continue to provide maximum collaboration to the judiciary in the interest that clarity on the matter can be made as soon as possible, pending the judgment by the judicial authorities which Eni trusts will be able to clarify the correctness of its actions". Today Eni records losses on the Stock Exchange in line with the negative trend of Ftse Eb: at the beginning of the afternoon, the stock lost 1,4% to 13,54 euros.
