An agreement is ready with 40 general practitioners to carry out vaccinations even in the outpatient clinic but the real problem remains the shortage of doses - Confindustria is ready to open factories for the vaccinations of employees and family members.

Vaccines in the clinic, agreement with general practitioners

Exactly one year ago Italy discovered Covid, with patient zero in Codogno and the first victim in Vo 'Euganeo. The first two outbreaks, the first two red areas of Italy. A year later, the virus is still there, it still hurts but we are trying to defeat it thanks to vaccines. Italy hasn't done too badly in terms of vaccination so far, even if after a sprint start it has had to undergo, like other European countries, Pfizer's program change, diverting resources to the less effective AstraZeneca serum. The time schedule on which the emergency commissioner Domenico Arcuri is still based provides for 4 million doses to be delivered by February, 8 million by March. Then the change of pace must take place, with the hoped-for growth in the volumes of incoming stocks, on which the June goal of having vaccinated half of Italians depends.

However, there are two excellent news from the last few hours: the first is that the problem of strengthen the ranks of administrators it seems to be superseded by the agreement between the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza and the National Order of Family Doctors. The agreement was reached on a reimbursement, for doctors, of 6,16 euros per administration as already foreseen by the national convention for inoculating the flu vaccine. Only the signature is missing, which should be done between today and tomorrow. In this way, potentially 40 more vaccinators enter the field. The government's indication to the regions is that doctors take care of giving injections with vials of AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson, currently reserved for the 18-65 age group, in their studies or at the local health authorities, but the final decision rests with to the Governors. In Tuscany and Puglia, for example, they have made it known that they want to use general practitioners for the over-XNUMXs.

Other good news is the commitment made by Confindustria, which announced through the president Carlo Bonomi di make factories available not only for the vaccination of employees, but also their family members. “There are around 5,5 million employees of the companies belonging to Confindustria – said Bonomi in an interview with Repubblica -. Considering their families, we would get to vaccinate over 12 million Italians in our plants ".
