Good news for the US housing market. The macro figure expected for today was slightly lower than expected: the number of new homes sold in July increased to 4,47 million from 4,37 million in the previous month and against the 4,5 expected by analysts. The long-term trend is positive: from the minimum of 3,39 million reached in July 2010 shows the upward trend. The construction companies benefit.
The positive data was not enough to resolve Wall Street which instead follows the downward trend of the European squares. The New York Stock Exchange opened in negative ground with the Dow Jones losing 0,13% and the S&P500 down 0,35% after the record set yesterday.
