The overall figure, in fact, settled on a growth of 0,2% on an annual basis in December, just above (0,1%) analysts' expectations. Net of the motor component, which recorded a drop of 1,8% during the month, the index rose by 0,7%.
Looking at the whole of 2013, retail sales recorded a growth of 4,2% on an annual basis, slowing down compared to +5,4% in 2012 and +7,5% in 2011.
