Usa, Trump appoints Lewis Eisenberg ambassador to Italy

Lewis Michael Eisenberg, known by all as "Lew", is awaiting confirmation from the US Senate to become the new US ambassador to Italy.

A moderate republican, who within his own party has repeatedly declared which side he was calling himself "a Thomas Jefferson republican".

If the most intransigent wing, against abortion and civil liberties, does not approve of his political leanings, Donald Trump recognizes him the money and donations collected for the electoral campaign and for the role of connection, which, as treasurer of the " Gop”, he held between the tycoon and the party.

To remember, and perhaps to remind the President himself, of the non-EU and humble origins of the future ambassador. It seems, in fact, that the grandparents, who came from a Jewish family, came from Germany and Poland and that the father saved up every penny to allow Eisenberg the brilliant career he built over time.

As a Goldman Sachs executive, he became the founder of his own investment firm, Granite Capital International. He then arrives at various public offices: from President of the Port Authority, the public agency that controls the infrastructures, between New York and New Jersey, to director of the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation, which deals with the reconstruction of the World Trade Center, up to to get into politics.
