The average for the last four weeks - based on data from the US Department of Labor - stood at 305.000, a decrease of 3750 units compared to the 308.750 revised the previous week.

Finally, in the week to 21 September, continuing claims for benefits amounted to 2.925.000 units, an increase of 104.000 units compared to the revised 2.821.000 units of the previous week.

The average for the last four weeks stood at 2.837.250, down 4750 units from the 2.842.000 magazines the week before.
