Usa: sales of existing homes below expectations, but with unit prices rising

In April, the US real estate market recorded a 0,6% growth in sales of existing homes, the latter settling at 4,97 million units. This is the largest increase since November 2009. Analysts, however, expected a figure of more than 5 million.
The median home price nationwide rose to $192.800, the highest since 2008, an 11% increase from a year ago. The data on the stock of homes looking for a buyer was decidedly negative, increasing by 11,9% to 2,16 million units. At these rates it would take 5,2 months to dispose of the unsold.
