Initial jobless claims in the United States rose by 13 to 336 in the past week. The figure released by the Labor Department is slightly worse than the expectations of analysts who had predicted a rise to 330.
The number of "continuing claims" rose by 29 to 2.999.000 units during the week, while the four-week moving average dropped by 2.250 units to 330.500 units. This is the lowest level since November 2007.
