Good news from the United States, where initial jobless claims fell, in the week ending 6 Octoberat 339 thousand units, against an expected 365, reaching the lowest level since February 2008. The week before, requests had stood at 369. This was announced by the Department of Labor, which adds, however, that the state has not provided some additional data that could prove to be influential.

The average of the last four weeks has instead reached the lowest level since February 2012, at 364 requests.
