(Teleborsa) – In reverse the American industrial production, after a fluctuating first part of the year, reflecting a still uncertain phase of the stars and stripes economy.
In August, industrial production recorded a decrease of 0,4%, after +0,6% in July (revised from a preliminary +0,7%). The figure is worse than analysts' estimates which indicated a decrease of 0,2%. On an annual basis there was a decrease of 1,1%.
In the negative too manufacturing production, by 0,4% after the +0,4% of the previous month (-0,4% year on year). In the same period, capacity utilization for all industrial sectors stood at 75,5% from 75,9% the previous month, falling short of the consensus of 75,7%. Capacity utilization in the manufacturing industry also fell to 74,9% from 75,2%.
