US Gross Domestic Product grew 4,2% in the second quarter, beating analysts' expectations for a 3,8% increase. This was announced by the US Department of Commerce.

The data was revised upwards from the preliminary reading, which spoke of a growth of the US economy equal to 4%, after the contraction of 2,1% in the first quarter.
