The American economy is growing more than expected, with a 1,3% increase in GDP in the second quarter.

A figure higher not only than the preliminary estimate and that of analysts, who spoke of an improvement of 1 and 1,2% respectively, but also the performance in the January-March period, which had recorded a rise of just 0,4 ,XNUMX points.

The increase in GDP particularly reflects a marked increase in exports (+3,6 per cent, imports +11,4 per cent) and consumption (which grew by 0,7 per cent in the second quarter, against 0,4, 10,3 per cent of the preliminary estimate; they contributed half a percentage point to GDP). Corporate investments also performed well, with fixed non-residential investments growing by 9,9 percent (against XNUMX percent in the first estimate).
