Usa, Obama sworn in for a second term: today the public ceremony on Capitol Hill

The Obama bis officially began yesterday: the president re-elected in November was sworn in for the second time, thus kicking off the second four-year term of government. Barack performed the private ceremony in the Blue Room in front of Judge Roberts, flanked by Michelle and daughters Malia and Sasha. Today, however, the president of the United States of America will repeat the formula in front of a crowd of 800 people on Capitol Hill, with live television throughout the planet.

“I, Barack Obama, solemnly swear to faithfully fulfill the functions of President of the United States and to safeguard, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States”: these are the words of Obama, swearing on a family Bible. No uncertainty this time, unlike in 2009 when the errors of him and the judge during the ritual formula led constitutional experts to request a new oath to be sure that the constitutional provision had been fully respected.

Yesterday Vice President Joe Biden was also sworn in, who allowed himself a sensational gaffe at the Naval Observatory: “I am proud to be the president of the United States,” he also said in front of a family Bible. Today the big party of the public ceremony is scheduled, with the presence of pop star Lady Gaga.
