Usa: the non-manufacturing index grew in August, a figure higher than expected

The American non-manufacturing ISM index is growing. In fact, the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) communicated that in August it increased to 53,3 points from 52,7 points in July, while analysts' expectations had indicated a level of 51,2.
Specifically, the index on new orders increased, rising to 52,8 from 51,7 and that relating to prices paid, rising to 64,2 from 56,5. The production index dropped slightly to 55,6 from 56,1 and the employment index dropped to 51,6 from 52,5. Also the index on inventories decreased to 53,5 points from 56,5. If the index is below 50 it shows a contraction in the non-manufacturing sector and if it is higher it shows growth.
