Hertz Global shopping among competitors. The global car rental giant announces that it has closed the negotiations for the purchase of Dollar Thrifty, which will be forfeited for approximately $2,3 billion ($87,50 per share)including debts.
Thus ends a long courtship. Already in April 2010 Hertz had offered for Dollar Thrifty 1,2 billion dollars, but then the offer was rejected. Avis Budget Group later entered the tender with a higher bid, but dropped out in September 2011.
Dollar Thrifty stock closed on the New York Stock Exchange at $81 on Friday.
