The illusion did not last long: this week the claims for unemployment benefits in the United States are growing again. According to data released by the Washington Department of Labor, the increase was 5 units, for a total of 417 requests. Also last week's numbers have been revised upwards, passing from 408 to 412 thousand. Analysts had predicted that in the last few days the figure would have stood at around 405 requests.
From the Labor Department they explain that the Verizon dispute above all weighed on the latest findings. In mid-August, the employees of the telephone giant staged a huge strike. The case led to 8.500 new jobless claims last week and another 12.500 in the week ending Aug. 13.
