US industrial production rose slightly in January, but not enough to offset the decline in December. Indeed, production improved 0,2% from the month before when it fell 0,3%, according to data from the Federal Reserve. Capacity utilization remained at 79,4%. Both figures were below expectations. On an annual basis, industrial production rose by 4,8%. Manufacturing production rose 0,2% after remaining unchanged in December (revised figure).
