Usa, Biden has chosen the new Secretary of State: it is Blinken

With the appointment of new secretary of state, a fundamental piece is added to the administration of the president-elect of the United States, Joe Biden. The name will be made official tomorrow, when the investiture of the National Security Advisor and the American ambassador to the UN arrives, but it now seems certain that it is anthony blinken.

A 58-year-old New Yorker, a Harvard graduate, Blinken will have the very delicate task of mend the international relations of the United States, frayed - when not cut cleanly - by the outgoing president, Donald Trump. In the past, Blinken has already been part of theClinton administration and during Biden's election campaign he played a leading role, supporting the democratic candidate in the most important decisions which then led him to the White House.

As for the other more important appointments to come, Jake sullivan would be chosen for the role of Security Advisor, while Linda Thomas Greenfield she is running for UN ambassador.

Biden knows the number one priority to address remains the Covid emergency. With over 12 million confirmed infections and almost 260 victims, the United States remains the country most affected by the pandemic in the world and there is still no possibility of concrete improvements on the horizon. Among the most affected cities is precisely the one that gave birth to Blinken (as well as to Trump): New York, emptied of tens of thousands of people, who sold or left their rented apartments to move to the countryside or on the coast.

Meanwhile, the fate of the new President and his team remains a sword of Damocles called Trump, who persists in not accepting the handover, despite the perplexities of his own lawyers, who file appeals, mostly rejected by the judges. The latest bankruptcy by The Donald has arrived in Pennsylvania, where the outgoing President's lawyers have nevertheless decided to present an appeal to try to block the certification of the vote.
