Usa, employment and productivity increased in November

In November, the US economy created 206 jobs. This is the estimate calculated by Adp, a company specialized in the outsourcing management of human resources. The figure is better than analysts' expectations, which provided for 130 more seats. The official reading on the US labor market will be announced on Friday.

Productivity in the third quarter of 2011 in the United States grew by 2,3%, recording a figure lower than expectations, which were +2,5%, and compared to the preliminary estimate published at the beginning of the month, equal to +3,1%. Labor costs in the same period fell by 2,5% on an annual basis, when the preliminary estimate was for a reduction of 2,4% and expectations were for a +2,2%.

The ISM index of the New York business district rose to 47,2 points in November from 44 points in October, which had
represented the lowest point since April 2009. The activities of the Big Apple therefore continue to contract (as happens every time a datum is below 50 points) but the worst appears to have passed. A trend underlined above all by the excellent performance of the sub-component which measures expectations for the performance of the business in the next six months: the opinion on the outlook improved to 71 points from 54,9 in October while the employment component rose to 52,1 points from 37,8 a month ago.
