Consistent increase in July for industrial orders in the United States. The figure recorded an increase of 2,4% (to 453,17 billion), a figure significantly higher than the estimates of analysts who had forecast a growth of 1,9%. This is the largest increase since March of this year. This was announced by the Department of Commerce of the Bureau of the Census of the USA. The positive trend is mainly due to the strong increase in demand in the automobile and airplane sector. In June, the level of orders had shown a negative variation of 0,4%, while the preliminary reading had indicated a decrease of 0,8%.

The report highlights that orders excluding the transportation sector rose 0,9% after rising 0,4% in June. Without calculating requests from defence, the indicator increased by 2,6% after decreasing by 0,2% the previous month. The data marks an increase, of 1,6%, also in shipments, while orders not yet delivered increased by 0,8%.
