US jobs increased more than expected in September. On the basis of data released by the Labor Department, an increase of 103 units was in fact recorded, while forecasts had indicated an increase of 80 new jobs.
The growth was mainly fueled by the private sector with 137 new jobs in September, compared to 42 in July. In the public there was instead a contraction of 34 thousand seats, marking a worsening compared to the previous month which had shown a growth of 15 thousand units. However, the unemployment rate remains stable, i.e. at 9,1%.
