Which universities are the most expensive? Here is the Italian ranking

Studying in Italy has a different cost that varies according to the city and region that each student chooses to continue their university studies. However, there is one thing that all Italian universities have in common: they are increasingly expensive. In taxes alone, the figure varies from a minimum of 477,115 euros to a maximum of 1.758,295 if you are in a high income bracket. But the figures are quite different if we analyze the issue at a territorial level.

To provide a ranking of the most expensive universities in the country is Federconsumatori which, within the 6th national report presented at the beginning of the academic year, takes stock of the situation. In general: in the North you pay more than in the South. But not only that, the average taxation is profoundly unequal even within the same ISEE bracket and even in certain universities it changes based on the courses chosen. The analysis technique used by the association provides for the subdivision of Italy into three geographical macro areas and for each of these the three regions with the highest number of students were examined: Lombardy, Piedmont, Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Tuscany, Lazio , Campania, Puglia and Sicily. For each region, the two largest universities were chosen and finally five standard ISEE income brackets were established, for which the sums to be paid were calculated.

Based on the study by Federconsumatori, it turns out that the average amounts of northern universities are 16,79% higher than those of the South and 15,47% higher than the national average. What are the most expensive universities in Italy? In first place in terms of taxation is Parma. Students pay an average of 794,59 euros for the lowest income bracket and the figure rises to almost 2 euros for the highest income bracket. Silver medal for Milan where the price varies from 711 euros for the humanities faculties to 788 for the scientific ones. The differentiation based on the type of studies chosen is also found in the rest of the universities analysed. In Rome Torvergata, at the Polytechnic of Turin, in Bari, in Catania, in Pisa and in Florence the tuition amounts are the same but, for example, a mathematics student pays between 4,25% and 6,06% more than one of letters, depending on the income bracket.
