UnipolSai: negotiations with the unions are off to a bad start, risk of mobilisation

Part uphill the negotiation between the unions and Unipol-Fonsai, and mobilizations are looming on the horizon. Yesterday's meeting on the restructuring plan that will follow the merger has, in fact, dissatisfied the trade unions Fisac, Fiba, Uilca, Fna and Snfia who immediately called meetings in the workplace and, in a joint note, speak of "circumvention of certain fundamental guarantees regarding the exclusion of individual and collective redundancies”.

Furthermore, there is a lack of clarity on the entire industrial plan both as regards the companies not included in the merger project and to define adequate measures for the portfolio shares sold, in relation to the workers concerned, continues the note .

The hottest issue, on the way to the creation of the UnipolSai group, these are the 2.200 redundancies envisaged in the restructuring plan, i.e. approximately 25% of the company's total employees. The press release from the unions, increasingly on a war footing, ends as follows: "At the moment, the company's position does not allow a development of the negotiation consistent with the protections requested by the union organizations and present in all the agreements signed in the large insurance groups".
