Senate vote on civil unions postponed to Wednesday 24 February. After the step back of the grillini on the super kangaroo, Luigi Zanda presented the request for postponement: “Yesterday we registered a new political fact – said the president of the Pd senators -. A group that seemed in favor of a process of the provision has changed its mind. Therefore, a work of reflection is needed to re-tie the political threads”.
Andrea Marcucci, father of the so-called kangaroo - the amendment which, if approved, invalidates almost all the others - said he was convinced that trusting the 5 Star Movement was a mistake: "We asked for a week to reflect - said the senator Pd -, have the majority and bring home the law. After the position taken by the M5S, no one is calm about the fate of this measure, not even me".
We therefore return to talk about the possible removal of stepchild adoption from the Cirinnà bill, but Roberto Speranza excludes this hypothesis: “I think that in Italy we have been paused for too long for reflection on civil unions. Now it's time to move forward, the Pd does not stop and win the challenge. The text must be kept as it is, it is already a compromise, it is unthinkable to remove stepchild adoption".
