Civil unions, Renzi: "Either M5S says yes or agreement with Ncd"

The Democratic Party in the Senate does not have the numbers to make the Cirinnà bill prevail over civil unions (including adoptions) and is therefore at a crossroads that will be resolved in tomorrow's assembly of its senators - Renzi: "Either the 5 Star Movement will convinces to vote for the provision or a majority agreement (without adoptions) with Ncd and possible recourse to trust will be needed"

Civil unions, Renzi: "Either M5S says yes or agreement with Ncd"

On civil unions, the Democratic Party is at a crossroads: either the 5 Star Movement decides to vote on the law, or the Democrats will have to try a government agreement with the NCD. Prime Minister Matteo Renzi said this yesterday during the national assembly of the Democratic Party, suggesting that any agreement with the centrists of Alfano would pass through the removal of the adoption of the partner's son from the Cirinnà bill and that the government would “ready to place confidence” on the amendment. The last word will be up to the assembly of Pd senators scheduled for Tuesday. The President of the Council himself will participate in the meeting.

“The passage on civil unions is numerically delicate – Renzi underlined – if it is true that we want to find a point of fall between us it is equally true that the numbers in the Senate are not those of the newspapers: we are 112, the other groups 218. We do as we want if we aim for the minority. Given how the situation was, we decided to make an agreement with Grillo and the Five Stars. Just hurt us. I understand the Lucy and Charlie Brown syndrome, but they aim to harm the Democratic Party, we aim to do good for Italy. The mayor of Livorno said that the Democratic Party must die, we that Italy must live”.
