Unioncamere and Industry 4.0: Digital Enterprise Points presented

The Chambers of Commerce are working throughout the territory to create the Digital Enterprise Points (PID), a physical and virtual network. The goal is to spread the culture and practice of digital in micro, small and medium enterprises.

The project is part of the National Industry 4.0 Plan launched by the Government and was presented on Friday by Unioncamere at Maker Faire, during the final training event which involved Chamber of Commerce officials involved in the creation of PIDs.

The services that the PIDs will offer are numerous and of different nature: among these, dissemination of basic knowledge on Industry 4.0 technologies; mapping of companies' digital maturity and assistance in launching digitization processes through assessment and mentoring services; training courses on basic skills in the digital sector; orientation towards more specialized structures such as Digital Innovation Hubs.

By providing vouchers, the Chambers of Commerce also provide "tangible" economic support for the digitization initiatives implemented by companies in their area from an Industry 4.0 perspective. Almost 40% of the 116 million euro put in place by the Chamber system is destined for this line of activity, activating incremental resources aimed at carrying out the project.

“Many companies are aware of the competitive advantages linked to the introduction of digitization within their own structure. This is demonstrated by the fact that 65,8% of medium-sized enterprises know the Enterprise 4.0 plan and, of these, 2 out of 5 would like to start developing digital technologies to improve their efficiency. This is what the general secretary of Unioncamere, Giuseppe Tripoli underlined. “However, there is still a vast entrepreneurial reality that is struggling to understand the scope of the 4.0 revolution. Spreading this awareness throughout the entire Italian entrepreneurial fabric is therefore the primary objective that we want to achieve through the PIDs”.

Through the www.puntoimpresadigitale.camcom.it portal promoted by Unioncamere and created by InfoCamere, it is possible to identify in real time the geographical map of the PIDs located in the Chambers of Commerce, learn about the events, initiatives and services offered by the Chamber system for Digital Enterprise
