The survey shows that 23,9% of Italian companies (about 370 companies, of which 150 industrial and almost 220 in services) between 2008 and 2011 invested or will invest in green technologies and products. The demand for professions related to the green economy is more widespread in micro enterprises (from 1 to 9 employees) and in small ones (from 10 to 49)

38% of the hirings expected by companies for 2011 concern professionals linked to sustainability: they are 227.000 out of approximately 600.000 new jobs. This is what emerges from the GreenItaly report, elaborated by Symbola and Unioncamere.

The survey shows that 23,9% of Italian companies (about 370 companies, of which 150 industrial and almost 220 in services) between 2008 and 2011 invested or will invest in green technologies and products, choosing to combine quality, innovation and sustainability. Of the 227 hires attributable to environmental sustainability planned for this year, around half, equal to 97.600 units (16,4% of the total), are linked to "green professions" in the strict sense, i.e. those in the renewable energy sectors , water and waste management, environmental protection, and more mobility and sustainable building, energy efficiency.

The research shows that the demand for professions linked to the green economy is more widespread in micro enterprises (from 1 to 9 employees) and in small ones (from 10 to 49). The more substantial demand for green figures is also more present among companies in the South. Companies based on eco-compatibility offer permanent contracts to a higher extent (48% of cases) than traditional ones (43%).
