Three months after the launch of the service, the initiative is meeting with growing favor from professional users and businesses residing abroad, with particular regard to our country's historic partners. Among the forty-six countries from which requests have come, the greatest interest is in fact concentrated among users residing in the United Kingdom (from which 27% of foreign requests come), in Germany (17%) and in the United States (10%). .
“The Business Register – said the President of Unioncamere, Ferruccio Dardanello – is increasingly confirmed as a service tool for market development and economic transparency to ensure the fairness of exchanges. The possibility of consulting it in English now offers foreign operators an incentive to address our market more and more with confidence. For Italians, having official documents already in English, without the need for a sworn translation, allows them to improve their internationalization initiatives and make them more efficient and less expensive".
Overall, in the first three months of the launch of the new service, more than half of the registrations in English, requested by occasional users through the business registry. of international business, reliable legal and economic information on possible Italian partners. As for the remaining half of requests, those from Italy, their consistency signals the high attention that our companies continue to show towards internationalization opportunities, awaiting a significant and stable recovery in domestic demand.
The new certificates and registration documents in English, available since 20 October, can be requested online on the business registry.it portal or by contacting the counter of each Chamber of Commerce. The project, included in the so-called "Destination Italy" decree, aimed at introducing measures that could facilitate investments in Italy by foreign companies and, on the other hand, facilitate the diffusion of Italian companies in foreign economies.
But what are the characteristics of the companies whose registrations have been requested in English? Meanwhile, the legal form: joint stock companies in 86% of cases, no sole proprietorship. In 9 cases out of 10 they are companies from the Centre-North; specifically, 20% of the companies for which a foreign language survey was provided have their registered office in Milan, 7% in Rome and 5% in Turin. In this special provincial ranking Naples, in 15th position with only 2%, is the first reality in the South followed by Bari in 24th (1%).
It should be remembered that, according to the provisions of the decree law published in the Official Gazette of 4 October and in which the project for the creation of documents in English was included, the use of the certificate in English in a foreign country is exempt from stamp duty. A further advantage of the new certificates in English is the presence on the first page of the "QR Code", the new identification code of the official documents of the Chambers of Commerce.
As already for the chamber of commerce registration, thanks to the "QR Code" anyone will be able to verify, directly from smartphones and tablets, the correspondence between the document in their possession and the one archived by the Company Register at the time of the search. The identification code is read using the "RI QR Code" app created by InfoCamere and downloadable free of charge from the main stores or from the Chambers of Commerce portal Registroimprese.it.
