Unioncamere-Cooperative, help for new businesses

Assist the birth of new businesses by helping them to develop the business plan. Ensuring the entrepreneurial and managerial training necessary for the start-up. Make technical assistance tools available to establish relationships with consortia and banks, in particular for access to microcredit. These are the main contents of the memorandum of understanding signed today in Rome during the Confcooperative-Federsolidarietà assembly by the president of Unioncamere, Ferruccio Dardanello, and by the spokesman of the Alliance of Italian Cooperatives in the social sector, Giuseppe Guerini, also representing Paola Menetti, president of Legacoopsociali, and Edoardo De Crescenzo, president of AgciSolidarietá.

“Social enterprise is an indispensable element in the productive fabric of the country – commented Dardanello -. In a moment of crisis like the one we are experiencing, this way of doing business has proven to keep employment levels better than other forms and, indeed, to give opportunities to those who have lost a job. It is the basis of a new community welfare that must be created to intercept the new needs of society and respond with the most appropriate solutions. Today's protocol strengthens an already solid collaboration between the chamber system and the world of cooperation and which is bearing concrete results. For the Social Entrepreneurship Start-up project – which 38 Chambers of Commerce have joined – we received over 500 valid business ideas. Thanks to the Protocol we will be able to support them better".

As part of the three-year agreement, the parties undertake to set up a working group consisting of approximately three representatives of Unioncamere and three representatives of the Alleanza Cooperative Italiane Settore Sociale for the implementation of the provisions herein protocol. The members of the group will operate free of charge and will also have the task of proposing possible further lines of collaboration between Unioncamere and the Alleanza Cooperative Italiane Sector Sociale.
