Between April and June, in Italy, the balance between openings and closings of companies was positive of 32.406 unit. The figure is substantially in line with the average of the last decade and seems to be starting a normalization after the strong post-pandemic rebound recorded in 2021. This is what emerges from the latest quarterly analysis "Movcompanies” conducted by Unioncamere and InfoCamere on data from the Business Register of the Chambers of Commerce.
The differences between North, Center and South
According to the report, the South achieved the most consistent absolute and relative increase of the quarter, with a positive balance of 11.542 businesses. They follow the Northwest (+8.438), the Centro (+6.582) and the North-East (+ 5.844).
At the regional level, in first place for the greatest growth is the Lombardia (+5.802), followed by Lazio (+4.226 companies) and, remotely, from Campania (+2.825). In relative terms, there are 8 regions that record a quarterly growth rate higher than the national average (+0,55%): Sardinia (+ 0,82%), Lazio (+ 0,69%), Puglia (+ 0,66%), Valle d'Aosta (+ 0,64%), Trentino Alto Adige (+ 0,63%), Lombardia (+ 0,61%), Emilia Romagna (+ 0,59%) and Sicilia (+ 0,58%).
The budget of the sectors
As regards the individual sectors, Unioncamere underlines again, the Constructions maintain a sustained growth rate also in this quarter with 8.548 more companies and a variation of 1,02%.
The recovery of the tourism sector close to the summer break is accompanied by a positive balance of the companies operating in the Accommodation and catering business (+4.026 the absolute change, +0,88% the percentage).
also the Professional, scientific and technical activities achieved a conspicuous increase of 3.712 units in the quarter, equal to +1,59% in percentage terms. The latter sector shows the largest percentage change, followed by theEducation (+ 1,24%) and from Artistic sports and entertainment activities (+ 1,15%).
