Unioncamere: 7.000 "pink" companies more in 2012

One out of four companies in Italy is a woman. At the end of December last year the Observatory of female entrepreneurship of Unioncamere points out that "pink" enterprises have increased by over 7 thousand units compared to 2011, with an increase of 0,5% of the entrepreneurial base against the growth of 0,3% of the total of Italian enterprises, which grew in 2012 by 0,3% .

These are the most significant data disclosed today by the President of Unioncamere, Ferruccio Dardanello, during the conference "Female entrepreneurship: a response to the crisis?" held as part of the 2013 edition of the BIT, the Italian Tourism Exchange.

The 7.298 more women's businesses also constitute a third of the balance of the whole business system, where the share is equal to just under a quarter (23,5%) of the total. Proof that female entrepreneurship, even in times of crisis, shows that it has something extra. Thanks to the positive balance, the stock of women's businesses existing at the end of 2012 amounted to 1.434.743 businesses.

In absolute terms, the comparison between the stocks in the twelve months under examination shows an appreciable growth of companies in the pink especially in Lombardy (+1.928), in Lazio (+1.555 companies) and in Tuscany (+1286). The most significant increases in percentage terms are recorded in the same regions but in reverse order: +1,29% in Tuscany, +1,09% in Lazio and +1% in Lombardy.
