The corporate crisis continues, taking on dramatic dimensions: with a negative balance of 31.351 units, the first three months of 2013 represent the worst first quarter recorded in the company registry since 2004, according to data released by Unioncamere on the basis of surveys conducted by InfoCamere.
The negative record was determined by a further decrease in enrollments compared to the same period of 2012 (118.618 against 120.278) and an even more significant leap forward in terminations (149.696 against 146.368). The negative growth rate for the quarter (equal to -0,51%) is the worst in the last decade and brings the total number of companies registered with the Chambers of Commerce to 6.050.239 units.
The darkest crisis is that of the artisan enterprises, which counts 21.185 companies missing from the appeal, or 67,6% of the total. In percentage terms, the reduction of the artisan entrepreneurial base was equal to 1,47% with a strong acceleration compared to the already negative result of 2012 (-1,04%). At the territorial level, a sharp step backwards in the North-East, where the number of businesses has fallen to 0,7%.
Ferruccio Dardanello, president of Unioncamere, raises the alarm: "The numbers of companies that are closing force everyone's attention to the urgency of concrete interventions for growth and employment". Then an appeal to politics, in the days of the election of the President of the Republic: "We need to work to approve measures to support the real economy: to restore credit to businesses, to encourage the hiring of thousands of young people looking for a job , to make life easier for businesses and citizens who are no longer able to perform miracles”.
