Unicredit exceeds 400 million in minibonds for SMEs

Three years after the launch of the initiative, UniCredit has exceeded the threshold of 3 million euros in minibonds subscribed or structured by the bank in favor of around 400 Italian SMEs. In detail, the 60 million euros mobilized to support the real Italian economy are the result of 400 issues fully subscribed by the bank, equal to 42 million in terms of volumes disbursed, with distribution throughout the Italian territory in various economic sectors; 277 issues as part of the Basket Bond Puglia for a total value of 8 million euro; 33,4 issues partially subscribed by UniCredit for a value of 2 million euro and, lastly, 18 minibonds distributed to institutional investors for 4 million euro.

“With the minibond tool – said Andrea Casini, co-CEO of Commercial banking Italy of UniCredit – we mobilize important resources in favor of Italian SMEs to support their growth projects. These are extremely important funds to get out of the emergency phase we are going through, which are added to UniCredit's full operation on all the financing solutions envisaged by the Liquidity Decree. Minibonds allow companies to access sources of financing complementary to the banking channel, useful for carrying out their investment, internationalisation, innovation projects and for satisfying working capital needs. Finally, we are working to finalize the tool also to support investments in the field of green economy and sustainability".

The three most recent issues, the bank notes, were made with: U-Invest Srl (U Power), (Novara), a company that produces safety footwear, a 25 million euro transaction (the largest amount subscribed by UniCredit with an Italian company ); Fratelli Ibba Group (Oristano – Cagliari), a 10 million euro operation, the company heads a corporate group divided into business areas representing the Crai, Simply and Leader Price brands; finally, ICAB (Salerno), a 1,5 million euro operation aimed at modernizing, making it more efficient and increasing the production capacity of the Buccino (Sa) plant. The company specializes in the production of food preserves (tomatoes, legumes and vegetables from the garden).
