UniCredit presents the 2019 Filarmonica della Scala Tour

A six-month tour that will touch the major European cities. La Scala Philharmonic prepares to leave. There will be nine international concerts directed by Maestro Riccardo Chailly which, from January to June 2019, will touch the most prestigious halls and festivals on the continent.

After the success of 2018, when the Filarmonica della Scala gave 17 concerts in nine countries, involving an audience of around thirty thousand people during the entire tour, the prospects for 2019 also look encouraging.

Main Partner of the orchestra since 2003 is Unicredit. Fabrizio Saccomanni, president of Unicredit and president of the Filarmonica della Scala, declared: "The annual appointment with the international tour of the Philharmonic has strongly characterized the activity of the orchestra and its role in spreading classical music worldwide to an ever wider and more diverse audience. At Unicredit we believe that supporting culture and talent has a positive impact in the communities in which we operate. The partnership with the Philharmonic is based above all on sharing the same goal: to offer extraordinary experiences to our communities in order to foster social cohesion and promote a sense of belonging".

Returning to the tour, the debut is scheduled for January 23 in Madrid, where two evenings will be held. The second stop will be Paris, where the orchestra will perform on January 25 with the violinist Maxim Vengerov. The program continues with:

  • Dortmund (January 26),
  • Amsterdam (January 28),
  • Luxembourg (January 29 with violinist Maxim Vengerov),
  • Modena (March 7),
  • Lucerne (April 11),
  • Baden-Baden (June 8, together with violinist Emmanuel Tjeknavorian).

The entire tour will be directed by Maestro Riccardo Chailly.
